Impact It was as dominant a five-round unanimous decision victory as you will ever see and it came with Oliveira entering as a +175 underdog. As legendary a submission specialist as Charles is, he's never been a great wrestler throughout his UFC run. Except this evening. Here, he landed 5-of-13 takedown attempts for a ridiculous 20:49 worth of control time. For comparison sake, Holloway had never been controlled for more than about six minutes in any of his prior bouts. Charles was credited with four submission attempts but it felt like a dozen-plus. Remarkable defending from Holloway on the mat was the only reason this fight saw the final bell. Oliveira will be 37 years old in October and is just 4-3 in his past seven fights, but those three setbacks came against Ilia Topuria, Arman Tsarukyan, and Islam Makhachev. In other words, the three-best lightweights in the world at the time of their respective fights. Charles has plenty of gas left in the tank and is as popular as ever.
