Impact This fight didn't look competitive on paper, and Green made sure we knew just how lopsided the booking was. King established tempo from the outset, routinely beating Stephens to the punch, while dodging strikes thrown his way. It wasn't long before the 39-year-old started to roll downhill, which forced the reckless offense that allowed him to secure the takedown and sink the choke. Green's trash talk and slick boxing can be fun to watch when he is in control, and the UFC should be able to find appropriate matchups for the veteran as he continues the final chapter of his career. Green improved to 35-17-1 (1 NC) in professional MMA due to the win.

Catchweight fight against Stephens Green and Jeremy Stephens will log a catchweight fight at UFC 238 in Newark on Saturday, according to Jose Youngs of MMA Fighting.

Impact Green made the UFC's lightweight limit for UFC 328, but Stephens did not, so he will forfeit 30 percent of his purse to the former. Green will prove to be the better veteran and improve his winning streak to three by defeating Stephens.

Impact Green will enter this bout on a two-fight winning streak in what will be a battle of two of the most experienced fighters in the UFC. Stephens has a longstanding UFC career but has only fought with the promotion once since 2022. Both fighters are looking to prove the can still compete in a tough lightweight division.

Impact King may be closing in on 40 years old and have north of 50 professional fights under his belt, but he also remains one of the most difficult guys in the division to game plan for. He's still plenty capable of teaching a youngster like Zellhuber a lesson. This was a rout. Green closed with an 86-17 edge in significant strikes landed in addition to landing all three of his takedown attempts. And while King is more volume-over-power at this stage of his career, he's still got some thunder in his hands in the right situation. Green has been a .500 fighter dating back to December 2023 and he should be expected to hover around that mark moving forward. There's still plenty of gas left in the tank here.

Impact Green defeated Lance Gibson in December to snap a brief two-fight skid, and he'll now attempt to start up a winning streak with a win over Zelhuber, who has lost back-to-back fights. That may be easier said than done, however, as Green will have to overcome a six-inch reach disadvantage.

Impact Green clearly wanted to get back in the octagon and was willing to fight anyone, which led to this matchup against the debuting Gibson being booked just a few days ago. While the latter was competitive, King looked good and clearly deserved to win, regardless of what the one incompetent judge said. Green won the significant strike battle by a 65-30 count and even mixed in a takedown in the dying seconds. Gibson's entire offense was two successful takedowns, neither of which he took advantage of. It's the first win since April 2024 for the 39-year-old California native.

Fighting debutant at UFC Vegas 112 Green will fight Lance Gibson at UFC Vegas 112 on Saturday, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Impact Green hasn't fought since losing to Mauricio Ruffy in March, and he hasn't come away with a win since he defeated Jim Miller in April 2024. Green will now aim to get back on track against Gibson, who will be taking a 9-1 professional record into his UFC debut Saturday.
