Impact It was an ordinary and mediocre performance from Gautier as a -1000 favorite. Yes, he landed a pair of knockdowns, won, and did so easily, but there are several causes for concern moving forward. Gautier slowed down in a major way throughout the course of the bout. He didn't defend particularly well and loaded up every single shot he threw. Of course, when you have elite, all-world power, you can get away with that at times. Still, if we learned anything from this result, it's that the 23-year-old has a ways to go and may not be fast tracked to the top as quickly as some might have expected.

Impact This guy is absolutely terrifying. This is a fight in which Gautier should have dominated, and he did exactly that, but he displayed remarkable calmness and composure in seeking out the finish. Gautier battered Valentin with power shots the entire bout, eventually putting him away in a little over a minute. Because of the size, power, and body type, Gautier certainly gives off a bit of a similar vibe to Francis Ngannou. It's far from a guarantee he'll have anywhere near the success Ngannou has over the course of his career, but at age 23 and with a perfect 3-0 record with the UFC under his belt, Gautier is off to a flying start.
