One more match against Mudaerji Perez will fight fellow flyweight Su Mudaerji at UFC Shanghai on Aug. 29, according to Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.

Impact The last time Perez fought, he did so against Mudaerji at UFC Macau in May, and both fighters logged a no-contest because of an accidental groin strike. Lacking a firm conclusion between them, both flyweights will compete one more time in just under two months' time.

Opponent foul leads to no contest Perez and Su Mudaerji fought to a no contest (Accidental Groin Strike) at 1:45 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Macau, China.

Impact Perez is seemingly always injured or involved in these weird circumstances. This one, of course, was not his fault. It admittedly wasn't going well for Alex prior to the foul, at which point Mudaerji blasted him with a shot to the groin. The damage was so extensive that Perez vomited twice and was unable to stand after the full five minutes. Referee Mark Craig had announced prior to calling off the fight that Su would be deducted a point, meaning he should have been disqualified, but the end result was a no contest. Perez had lost four of five fights as recently as November 2020 to November 2025, so he really can't afford a no contest result of any kind.

Next fight scheduled Perez is scheduled to compete against Su Mudaerji in a flyweight fight at UFC Macau on May 30, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Despite missing weight in his last fight, also at flyweight, Perez will give the class another go. He fought Charles Johnson at UFC 324 and defeated him via TKO, which gives the former at least some positive momentum going into his next fight against a flyweight on a three-fight win streak.

Impact Perez has always been supremely talented but has dealt with some poor luck throughout the course of his UFC run. As a result, he entered this evening the loser of five of his last six fights. In typical Perez fashion, a massive knockout win here over Johnson is largely negated by the fact he missed weight by 2.5 pounds on Friday morning. It was confirmed post-bout that Perez isn't eligible for the UFC's new $25,000 bonus policy for any fighter that earns a stoppage win. The victory was the most important thing considering Perez's record of late, but now he'll have to contend with weight cutting questions until his next time out.

Misses weight, fight still on Perez is scheduled to compete against Charles Johnson in a catchweight fight Saturday at Las Vegas, per Aaron Bronsteter of Sportsnet.

Impact Perez missed the UFC's flyweight limit by 2.5 pounds and will forfeit 25 percent of his purse to Johnson. The miss marks Perez's first in the UFC since February 2018, when he defeated Eric Shelton via unanimous decision.

Scheduled for UFC 324 Perez is scheduled to compete against fellow flyweight Charles Johnson at UFC 324 in Las Vegas on Jan. 24, per Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting.

Impact Perez is No. 11 in the UFC flyweight rankings, and he will take on a lower contender for his next fight. The former is looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Asu Almabayev in November.

Taps in Round 3 Perez lost to Asu Almabayev via submission (guillotine choke) at 0:22 of Round 3 at UFC Qatar on Saturday.

Impact Perez continues to fight the best of the best at flyweight, but he's now dropped four of five fights since losing a 2020 title shot to Deiveson Figueiredo, and his chances of competing in any further title-implicating fights have waned considerably with this loss. He was definitely competitive here despite dropping Round 1, as he built some momentum in the second frame by picking up three takedowns and winning the significant striking battle 21-to-13. However, with the fight tied at a round apiece heading into Round 3, Perez ate a massive head kick early that led to Almabayev jumping into a guillotine and Perez tapping out standing up. He'll likely need a rebound effort his next time out to save his roster spot.

Almabayev up next Perez (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Asu Almabayev in a flyweight fight at UFC Qatar on Nov. 22, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Less than two months after withdrawing from UFC Vegas 109, Perez will look to fight in the promotion's Qatar event. Injuries have continually dented Perez, whose last fight was a premature injury, but he will look to finally get back on track in November.

Out for UFC Vegas Perez will not fight against Steve Erceg at UFC Las Vegas on Aug. 9 due to an undisclosed injury, Nolan King of USA Today reports.

Impact Perez will postpone his next UFC match as he navigates back from an unknown injury. The American flyweight's last fight was in June of 2024, where he lost to Tatsuro Taira via TKO (injury). It's unclear who will now take on Erceg in August.

Taking on Erceg in August Perez will fight Steve Erceg at a UFC event in Las Vages on August 9, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Impact Perez will head into the bout looking to bounce back after his recent defeat at the hands of Tatsuro Taira last June. The 5-foot-6 American will have to overcome disadvantages in both height and reach against the younger Aussie. Perez will have to remain careful when it comes to grappling as Erceg boasts a perfect 6-0 record in submission finishes compared to the American's 7-5 professional record in such finishes.
