Impact Khachanov had to dig deep in the second round as he managed to outlast the No. 108-ranked Austrian after a five-set tussle that spanned three hours and 58 minutes. The 29-year-old Russian posted his best result at Roland Garros in 2023 when he made the quarterfinals. Khachanov will play either No. 12 seed Tommy Paul (0-2 H2H) or Marton Fucsovics (1-1 H2H) in the third round.
