Ayana Dunning had 16 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots as No. 14 West Virginia held off Boston University 60-57 Monday night.

The Mountaineers (2-0) led by seven with 3:51 to go, but Chantell Alford, who scored a career-high 30 points with nine rebounds for the Terriers, tied it at 57 with 29 seconds remaining.

Dunning hit 1 of 2 free throws with 4 seconds left, then knocked down a pair of foul shots 2 seconds later.

Alford, who had already made six 3-pointers, missed from half court with 2 seconds left.

During a back-and-forth first half, Boston University (1-1) used a 13-4 run in the final 2:59 to lead 33-28 at the break, then increased its lead to eight with 12:32 to go

But the Terriers scored only two points in the next 5:53, with the Mountaineers regaining the lead at 48-47 on a Bria Holmes 3.
