Will Campuzano released from the UFC following 2 straight losses

Published Mar. 31, 2014 12:45 p.m. ET

Will Campuzano got the call back to the UFC in November 2013, but following two consecutive losses the flyweight fighter has been released from the promotion.

Campuzano most recently fought at UFC 171 where he lost a lopsided decision to Justin Scoggins and that was following a defeat to Sergio Pettis at UFC 167 last year.

The fighter revealed his release on Twitter on Monday.

Campuzano has amassed an overall record of 0-4 during two different stays with the UFC, while also having a 1-2 record while competing in the WEC. In his fights outside of the UFC and WEC, Campuzano has gone a perfect 12-0, but unfortunately his time fighting in the Zuffa owned promotions has been the black mark on his record.

The six losses between the UFC and WEC account for all of the defeats on his professional record.

Still, given Campuzano's ability to win outside the organization he could easily amass another streak of victories that will land him back on the UFC's radar, and another shot competing inside the Octagon
