Undefeated women's star Holly Holm signs with UFC

It's been a long time coming but multi-time world boxing champion Holly Holm has finally signed an exclusive, multi-fight deal with the UFC.

Holm joins the promotion with an undefeated record in MMA, going a perfect 7-0 thus far in her career while training out of Jackson's MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Holm was a force to be reckoned with during her boxing career as well before transitioning to MMA full time last year. She amassed a 33-2-3 record as a pro boxer, winning titles for the WBF, WBAN, WBC, GBU, WIBA, IFBA, WBA and IBA as well.

The New Mexico fighter known as 'The Preacher's Daughter' has had highly publicized negotiations to sign with the UFC for the past several months, but no deal was reached until just recently.

It's expected that Holm will be a serious force at 135 pounds when she debuts later this year. A date and opponent haven't been named as Holm is still dealing with a broken arm suffered in her last fight against Juliana Werner in April.

At 32 years old, Holm enters the UFC with a lot of hype as one of the only names left on the roster still to challenge women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Given her prolific striking background, Holm creates a different kind of animal for Rousey to deal with if she can survive an early UFC schedule to earn the title shot.

Holm trains alongside a slew of top UFC names including light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, so she'll have no shortage of great partners to get her ready for her Octagon debut once she is officially cleared to return to action.
