UFC 205, Alvarez vs McGregor: Medical suspensions
The list of medical suspensions has been released for the fighters involved at UFC 205.
The New York State Athletic Commission released medical suspensions for the fighters involved at UFC 205 and they include a 60-day minimum suspension for middleweight fighter Chris Weidman, who was fighting in his home state.
Weidman fought for the first time in front of his hometown crowd at Madison Square Garden but suffered a knockout loss to Yoel Romero. Early in the third round, Romero caught Weidman with a flying knee which led to the victory and now will mean Weidman must sit for 60 days minimum.
The NYSAC has suspended Weidman along with Rafael Natal and Belal Muhammad for a minimum 60 days pending clearance from the commission. Vicente Luque, who knocked out Muhammad just 79 seconds into the first round, was suspended indefinitely by the NYSAC.

In the main event of UFC 205, featherweight champion Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez in a lightweight title fight by second-round TKO. The victory for McGregor made him the first ever UFC fighter to hold two championship belts in two different weight classes simultaneously.
Two other titles were defended at UFC 205 as Tyron Woodley scored a majority draw over Stephen Thompson to retain the welterweight title, while Joanna Jedrzejczyk defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz by unanimous decision to retain the women’s strawweight title.
