Stipe Miocic returns to saving lives after first UFC title defense

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is fresh off his first defense of his UFC title, but the Cleveland native doesn’t plan on quitting his job as a firefighter and paramedic anytime soon. In fact, he’s actually refreshing his skills.
Just three days after knocking Alistair Overeem unconscious at UFC 203 in front of a hometown crowd, Miocic was back at the “office” renewing his Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training.
PALS is an American Heart Association certification for medical professional who respond to emergencies involving children and infants.
According to their website, the course has an emphasis on child and infant CPR and “uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics.”
It’s cool Stipe uses firefighting and saving lives as a way to prevent himself from doing to internet trolls what he did to Overeem on Saturday night.
