Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza to meet Yoel Romero at UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor
For the third time this year, Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza and Yoel Romero will look to do battle as the middleweights have been paired up yet again, this time at UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas.
UFC officials confirmed the fight on Monday evening.
'Jacare' and Romero have been paired up twice already this year but injuries and illness have stopped the fight from actually happening.
Originally they were set to meet at UFC 184 in February, but 'Jacare' came down with a bout of pneumonia that forced him to pull out of the fight.
The bout was rescheduled for FOX UFC Fight Night in New Jersey in April, but Romero withdrew after suffering a knee injury.
In the interim, Souza went on to beat late replacement Chris Camozzi while Romero returned in June and knocked out former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.
Now the two middleweights will try one more time to face off with the winner likely in line for the next shot at the championship. Middleweight king Chris Weidman battles Luke Rockhold in the UFC 194 co-main event and the winner might already know who's next by the time the night is over.
UFC 194 goes down from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with the featherweight unification title fight headlining the card as Jose Aldo faces Conor McGregor.
