Following an injury to Hacran Dias, the UFC has tapped 8-0 prospect Sean Soriano to step in and face Japanese veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Singapore.

Sources close to the fight confirmed to FOX Sports that verbal agreements are in place for Soriano to face Kawajiri on January 4.

Soriano is undefeated thus far in his professional career and trains out of the Blackzilian camp in South Florida alongside notable names such as Rashad Evans and Eddie Alvarez.

Thus far in his career, Soriano has only fought on the regional circuit competing in promotions like CFA out of Florida and in several cards out of the New England area when he was first starting out as a fighter.

Now he will travel a few thousand miles away to face the toughest test of his young career when former PRIDE and DREAM standout Tatsuya Kawajiri makes his UFC debut after being ranked as one of the top fighters in the world for most of his career.

UFC officials have not announced the bout yet, but it's expected that Kawajiri vs. Soriano will remain on the main card for the upcoming show in Singapore.
