Nate Diaz did not sign new UFC deal to accept fight with Rafael dos Anjos

Nate Diaz will finally return to the UFC in December when he faces Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night on FOX: Dos Santos vs. Miocic, but he's coming back without negotiating a new contract.

The former Ultimate Fighter season five winner has been out of action for almost a year amidst a dispute with the UFC over his salary and Diaz stated several times he was willing to sit as opposed to fighting for the money he was making.

While it's true that Diaz is returning, according to UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani, he's coming back under the terms of his previous deal.

According to sources, Diaz stated that if he was not going to get paid more money he at least wanted a top five opponent to entice him to return.  The UFC was willing to comply to those wishes and matched him up with No. 3 ranked Rafael dos Anjos at the card coming up in December.

Diaz still has five fights left on his current UFC deal including the bout with dos Anjos.  It wasn't long ago that Diaz got a new contract with the UFC around the time he fought Benson Henderson for the UFC lightweight title.

Since that championship fight, Diaz has gone 1-1 with a knockout win over Gray Maynard and a knockout loss to Josh Thomson.

Whether the financial problems will arise again in the future remains unknown, but regardless Diaz is getting back to business in December.
