UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping claims he’s actually once again agreed to the fight with the former 170-pound kingpin Georges St-Pierre

Following his successful title defense against Dan Henderson at UFC 204, middleweight champion Michael Bisping (30-7) found himself alone atop the list for most career wins in UFC history.

With 20 such victories under his belt, ‘The Count’ almost immediately looked to challenge former UFC welterweight champion George St-Pierre, the very man he surpassed on the all-times wins list.

“Georges talked about fighting me a while ago and I’d love to fight the guy,” Bisping told Sport360.com. “It’d be terrific for me business-wise and I also think I’d beat the guy…I’m here if you want to fight Georges, let’s go. Sign the papers, buddy, that’s all you’ve got to do.”

This isn’t the firs time the two UFC legends have been tied as this year St-Pierre’s striking coach Freddie Roach claimed Bisping had actually turned down the fight earlier this year. Bisping (of course) would have a thing or two to say about these comments.

But now, Bipsing is taking to his social media accounts to reveal he’s actually once again agreed to the fight with the former 170-pound king.

St-Pierre (25-2) recently made headlines  after announcing he is no longer under contract with the UFC, thus making him free agent. In terms of competition, he has not competed since defending his 170-pound title against Johnny Hendricks at UFC 167 in November 2013. This victory marked the his ninth consecutive title defense and 19th total win under the UFC banner. However, immediately after his win, “Rush” announced he would be taking an indefinite hiatus from competition.

The French-Canadian would later reveal he was feeling the itch to compete again. Specifically targeting the upcoming UFC 206 in Toronto, the French-Canadian continuously made it known his team was working with the UFC on a new deal. But these talks fell apart when the UFC was sold to WME-IMG in July.

St-Pierre holds several UFC records including the most wins in title fights (12), second most consecutive title defenses (9), second most wins (19), most wins by decision (12), most successful title defenses in the UFC Welterweight division (9), second longest combined title streak in UFC history (2,204 days) and the most consecutive title defenses in the Welterweight division (9).

Bisping, on the other hand, has his fair share of accolades as well, including the wins in UFC history (20) while being tied for the most fights in UFC history (27) with Tito Ortiz and Frank Mir. He is also the first British fighter to win a UFC title.
