Luke Rockhold wants to fight Anderson Silva next
UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold has been relatively quiet since losing his title to Michael Bisping at UFC 199, taking some time away from training to travel and deal with a grade three MCL sprain. But now, the former champ is ready to get back at it, and he knows exactly who he wants to fight next.
Rockhold took to social media yesterday to respond to a more than three-year-old callout from former middleweight champion and UFC great Anderson Silva.
Rockhold originally wanted an immediate rematch against the man who took his title, Michael Bisping. But since it appears Bisping could be fighting Dan Henderson at UFC 204, Rockhold has moved on to the fighter Bisping beat before winning the title.
Silva has zero wins on his record since 2012 and is coming off a loss against light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in a fight he took on just a few days’ notice. Despite that, “The Spider” is still ranked in the middleweight top five and Rockhold feels Silva’s name carries enough weight to propel him to another title shot.
