Kevin Lee pushes past Michel Prazeres for 3rd straight win

Kevin Lee used superior conditioning and a mix of fast striking and takedowns to wear down Michel Prazeres over three rounds to earn a unanimous decision victory on Saturday night at 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
After a heated staredown on Friday, both Lee and Prazeres came out of the gates early looking to land heavy strikes on the feet with the fighters also mixing in a fair amount of takedowns from each side.
Prazeres started the rounds strong, but it seemed the high altitude in Colorado started to zap his conditioning as the time ticked away.
Lee had better cardio throughout the fight, but just couldn't pull the trigger outside of a few key combinations that rattled Prazeres on the jaw.
Midway through the third round, Prazeres was diving in for takedowns as Lee blasted away with elbows against the cage with both fighters jockeying for position. As Prazeres pulled away, his arms were down and it was clear his energy was bottoming out.
Lee turned up the heat with just under two minutes to go, as he scored a takedown and started to rain down shots on Prazeres, who was fighting for air as much as he was fighting against Lee. The third round was clearly the most dominant of the entire fight, as Lee closed the books on Prazeres and picked up another win in his young UFC career.
Lee moves to 10-1 overall and 3-1 in the UFC with three straight victories.
