Ilir Latifi gets KO over Sean O'Connell with punch to the neck

It didn't take long for light heavyweight slugger Ilir Latifi to put Sean O'Connell away after landing a vicious punch the neck that put his opponent down and out in Boston on Sunday.

Latifi looked in better shape than ever before as he stepped into the Octagon for the sixth time and it showed in his performance.

Latifi only needed two exchanges to put a stop to O'Connell after he fired off a vicious right hand that landed flush on his opponent's neck that put him on wobbly legs.

O'Connell was clearly hurt and a second later he was so off balance he landed face first on the canvas as Latifi rushed in to continue the punishment, but the referee already saw enough.

The fight was stopped just 30 seconds into the first round giving Latifi his fourth UFC win and third by knockout.

“What can I say? I always go for the finish. I now have three knockouts in the first round -- in the first two minutes of the first round," Latifi said after the fight. "I’m always going for the bonus, Dana, I want that $50,000!

"I want a top-10 opponent next in my hometown in Sweden. I want to be the main event and I guarantee we sell it out in less than a day.”

O'Connell was a little upset at the stoppage but the replay showed that he was clearly hurt from the punch and could have taken a lot more unnecessary damage if the fight had continued.
