How Nick Diaz's advice led to Nate Diaz making UFC history

With nine UFC submissions under his belt, Nate Diaz has long been considered one of the best grapplers to ever enter the Octagon.
According to the Stockton, CA native, it was a piece of advice his older brother Nick gave him back when he was a blue belt that helped him become the submission ace he is today.
Diaz, a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt, is flashy and effective on the feet, but he made a name for himself early on by finishing eight of his first 11 professional fights by submission. His submission over McGregor was his ninth UFC submission, good for the most among all active fighters, No. 1 in the modern era and second all-time behind UFC legend Royce Gracie (11).
During his 30-fight career, Diaz has submitted the likes of Jim Miller, Takanori Gomi, Melvin Guillard, Kurt Pellegrino and Manny Gamburyan.
At just 31 years old, Diaz has the time and skill to break Gracie's record, as long as he keeps following big bro's advice.
