George Sullivan removed from UFC Chicago for potential UFC Anti-Doping policy issue

Published Jul. 21, 2016 6:21 p.m. ET

The UFC announced Thursday that welterweight George Sullivan has been pulled from his UFC on FOX in Chicago fight against Hector Urbina after Sullivan revealed information to USADA that could cause an issue with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.

According to the UFC statement, Sullivan voluntarily released the information to USADA and that "out of an abundance of caution" the promotion has decided to remove him from Saturday's card.

Sullivan's opponent, Ultimate Fighter season 19 contestant Hector Urbina, will still weigh-in on Friday as a backup for UFC Chicago, but he'll be rebooked in the near future if he does not fight Saturday.
