Fighters react to Khabib Nurmagomedov's dominant victory at UFC 205
Khabib Nurmagomedov proved that he was still one of the best lightweights in the world and deserving of a UFC title shot with his win over Michael Johnson at UFC 205.
Nurmagomedov was tested by Johnson’s striking early, but was able to work his way inside for the takedown. And once he had Johnson on the mat, he used his world-class ground game to suffocate “The Menace” and batter him with punches and elbows.
The destruction came to an end late in the third round when Johnson tapped to a kimura that probably would have broken his arm if held any longer. Afterwards, he took full advantage of his platform and called out featherweight king and lightweight title challenger Conor McGregor.
