Diego Sanchez vs. Marcin Held full fight video highlights
After their clash at UFC Mexico Saturday, check out the full video highlights from Diego Sanchez vs. Marcin Held.
In our co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Mexico card from Mexico City, a fierce lightweight contest took place when gritty veteran Diego Sanchez welcomed UFC newcomer Marcin Held to the Octagon.
The newcomer, Held, came out of the gates like a stallion looking very impressive, imposing his will on Sanchez early on in the contest. Held locked in a beautiful standing guillotine choke at one point, but Sanchez performed one of the most amazing submission escapes in recent memory by walking the fence to wiggle free from Held’s grip.
The second round was a much different story, as Sanchez turned it on and went to work by taking control of the center of the Octagon, as well as delivering a vicious ground clinic on Held with a barrage of strikes and powerful control. The third round was more of the same, as Sanchez continued his pressure and ground dominance, running off with a rather lopsided victory after his two rounds of rejuvenation.
The final judges’ score cards read 29-28, 29-28, 29-27, all in favor of a much-needed win for Sanchez, who was coming off an upsetting first round TKO loss to Joe Lauzon in their preliminary bout meeting at UFC 200 in July earlier this year.

After the contest Sanchez was reluctant to call anybody out for his next Octagon meeting, instead leaving it in the hands of UFC match-maker Sean Shelby.
