Was CM Punk able to walk out of UFC 203 with a victory?

CM Punk’s UFC debut has been waited on for two years, ever since he signed with the company in December 2014. His first fight would be set for UFC 203, where he faced Mickey Gall in a welterweight bout. This event got created for Saturday, September 10.

Well, Punk vs. Gall has come and gone at UFC 203. If you missed this, it happened in a blink of the eye, as Gall won this fight in the first round via submission.

The fight saw Gall and Punk collide in the middle of the octagon seconds in. Gall quickly got the advantage, pinning Punk to the ground and pounding away at his face. A few holds and one tap out later, the 24-year-old would win and move to 3-0 in UFC.

This bout won’t end Punk’s UFC run, though, as he said in a post-fight interview that he’ll be back and “won’t give up”.

Nothing went Punk’s way throughout this brief fight, including at this point.

Punk being grounded and pounded on took wore him down, and resulted in his face looking busted up once the fight concluded.

The other takeaway from this fight is Punk actually went through with this. He spoke out about his desire to compete in MMA, and followed through with it. This is despite looking outmatched from the start.

Punk will now move onto his next fight, whenever that may be. He’ll have to heal up, train, and get ready for whoever he faces next. It may be a process, especially after what happened at UFC 203. We’ll see in the coming days, weeks, and months what happened with the former WWE Champion, though.
