Daniel Cormier vs. Ryan Bader headlines UFC's return to New Orleans
Daniel Cormier is going home for his next fight as the former Olympian is set to face Ryan Bader in a five-round main event from New Orleans on June 6.
UFC officials announced the new bout and location for the fight card on Wednesday.
A proud native of Louisiana, Cormier will fight in his home state for the first time in his career when he faces Bader in New Orleans. The fight will be Cormier's return to action after losing a unanimous decision to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones on Jan. 3 at UFC 182.
As for Bader, he will look to add another signature win to his already impressive résumé, which touts a four-fight win streak with his most recent victory coming over former NCAA wrestling champion Phil Davis.
Bader has looked better than ever in his past few fights, but a victory over Cormier could punch his ticket to a title shot and a rematch against Jones, who beat Bader in 2011.
Cormier vs. Bader will air live on FOX Sports 1 from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans with tickets going on sale April 10.
