Conor McGregor: 'I want to apologize to absolutely nobody' (Video)
Conor McGregor capped off his historic achievement at UFC 205 by delivering the greatest post-fight interview in mixed martial arts history.
Conor McGregor is a genius on the microphone. Every time he speaks, he captivates mixed martial arts fans, and his interviews are hardly ever a disappointment. At UFC 205, he became the first ever two-division champion when he beat Eddie Alvarez, but they screwed up the moment when they only gave him one belt. He spent the first part of his post-fight interview asking where his second belt is, and as they were giving it to him, he delivered the greatest line in MMA history:

Before UFC 205, McGregor was slated to have a big announcement. A lot of people took him seriously, but when they found out that this was it, they simply laughed it off. Of course, Conor has a propensity of preparing big lines such as that. After he beat Nate Diaz, it was revealed that he planned his “surprise, surprise” line months in advance. It’s that type of self-belief that has gotten him to this point.
The second belt that they gave him was only for photo ops, though. That belt was actually Tyron Woodley’s, who retained it in an epic majority draw over Stephen Thompson. Given their confrontation at the weigh-ins and on Twitter, it looked like McGregor’s next opponent was decided, but Dana White revealed that Woodley was happy to lend Conor the belt for that moment.
McGregor’s performance at UFC 205 will be talked about for a long time. There’s nobody that handles pressure better than him, and despite Alvarez’s acumen, he made easy work of him. It seemed like that flawless performance couldn’t be topped, yet it was in his post-fight interview. More than anything, McGregor proved that, try as they may, there will never be a bigger star than him.
