CM Punk's Face Gets Busted Up in UFC 203 Debut (Photo)
CM Punk walked out of UFC 203 with a loss and a badly beat up face from his fight.
At UFC 203, CM Punk made his MMA debut, which had been nearly two years in the making. He had a highly-publicized signing with UFC in December 2014, 11 months after walking out of WWE. Injuries and training would push his debut back until Saturday, September 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH.
Well, in his first fight against Mickey Gall, the former WWE Champion lost within minutes in round one via submission. Gall took control of Punk from the start, pounding away at his head and put him into submission holds. This would prove to be too much for Punk, leading to the tap-out finish.
Punk took a beating from Gall in this fight, and came out of it with a bruised up face. It’s an image that potentially sums up everything that had happened on Saturday.

Punk would say that he’s not giving up, and will be back to fight another bout. When, where, and who this is against remains to be seen. It may not be determined for months, but we’ll have to wait for a timetable before assessing that.
After walking out of WWE nearly three years ago, though, Punk went through with his intentions. He ventured into MMA, wanted to try something new, and got to the stage of UFC 203. While he didn’t fare as well as Brock Lesnar did at UFC 200, Punk arguably deserves the credit for following up. It takes something to be able to get as far as he did in a second career.
So, the MMA and wrestling world had their eyes on CM Punk for one night. He lost to Mickey Gall, came out with a bruised face, and saw his record go to 0-1. What will be next for Punk, though?
