Bryan Caraway injured and out of UFC 170, replacement sought

A change will be made to the upcoming UFC 170 card on Feb 22 from Las Vegas as bantamweight fighter Bryan Caraway has been forced off the show with an undisclosed injury.

UFC officials announced the change on Tuesday.

Caraway (18-6) was scheduled to meet Lucas Martins on the card, but a training injury forced him out of the fight and onto the sidelines.

The former Ultimate Fighter competitor hasn't fought since April 2013 but did serve as an assistant coach on the last season of the reality show where he helped out his girlfriend Miesha Tate while she was leading the way for her team of bantamweight men and women.

Putting his own career on hold to help out Tate ended up pushing Caraway's own return back a few months, and now with this latest injury it appears he will have to wait until the second quarter of 2014 to get a new fight depending on how long he will be out.

UFC officials plan to replace Caraway with a new opponent to face Martins, but as of yet matchmakers have not found a viable candidate.
