Brendan Schaub talks about being 'banned' and being a zebra in a row of horses

Heavyweight Brendan Schaub is one of the most well-known and most successful UFC fighters in recent years. Sure, he's won his share of fights against other elite athletes, but a lot of Schaub's success has to to with the way he's used his UFC platform to create other opportunities for himself.

For example, he and comedian Bryan Callen host one of the most popular podcasts in the English language, The Fighter and The Kid. Schaub has also appeared regularly on other programs, including UFC Tonight and UFC Fight Pass's UFC Now.

On the FATK podcast this week Schaub let his fans know that, while they can certainly expect to hear and watch him speak his mind on he and Callen's show, he has been banned from other programs, like UFC Now.

"I have been," he said, when asked by Callen if he'd been "banned" from UFC Now.

"It has come to my attention that 'Big Brown,' and these aren't my words, 'is too controversial and doesn't fall in line like the rest,'" he continued.

"I guess I am not supportive of certain issues that link up with UFC. So, you won't see 'Big Brown' on UFC Now, anymore."

Schaub insisted that any concern he has about angering powers that be are subservient to his personality, character and code of ethics. "[People ask me] 'Don't you think you're going to burn a bridge?'," he recounted.

"Listen, I'm just not that guy. In a line of horses, I'm the zebra. I'm not doing it, man. Don't get it twisted - there is no show on UFC Fight Pass bigger than 'Fighter and The Kid.' So, you can take your show and kick rocks."
