Ben Rothwell wants Junior dos Santos, Stipe Miocic or Andrei Arlovski next
It's been a good couple of weeks for UFC heavyweight Ben Rothwell.
The Wisconsin native returned to action recently and despite being an underdog going into the matchup, he quickly dispatched of Alistair Overeem with a scorching first round knockout to mark the biggest win of his UFC career.
Following the fight, Rothwell thought he may have broken his arm blocking one of Overeem's kicks before landing the knockout shot to finish the fight.
Well, Rothwell recently found out that his arm isn't broken and he'll be cleared to return to action sooner rather than later according to UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani.
With the win against Overeem, Rothwell now holds the No. 10 spot in the heavyweight rankings and he's looking to move up with his next fight.
Rothwell says he's targeting one of three opponents for his return to the Octagon. He'd like to face former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, Stipe Miocic or Andrei Arlovski, who is fresh off a win over Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva last weekend.
It was recently announced that dos Santos and Miocic are likely going to meet at the upcoming UFC Fight Night on FOX card in December so that leaves Arlovski as a potential opponent and Rothwell does share some history with the former UFC champion.
The two fighters met in 2008 with Arlovski knocking out Rothwell in the third round of a fairly one-sided matchup. Now it appears Rothwell would like a shot to avenge the loss and climb up the rankings at the same time.
