Aljamain Sterling plans to finish Bryan Caraway, ask for title shot
UFC bantamweight contender Aljamain Sterling isn't looking past upcoming opponent Bryan Caraway, but he knows a big win in Vegas could help him lock up a title shot.
Sterling held a Twitter Q&A today, where he revealed that if he finishes Caraway like he plans to, he's going to ask for a shot at the UFC bantamweight title.
The plan is to finish Caraway. If I complete my goal I'll ask for the champ. If not then winner of Almeida-Garbrandt https://t.co/LsHAXzUdSq

According to the tweet, if Sterling doesn't get a finish, he'll ask for the winner of the UFC Fight Night Vegas main event between seventh-ranked bantamweight Thomas Almeida and Cody Garbrandt.
Currently sitting at fourth in the bantamweight division behind the likes of TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao, Sterling would need a highly impressive finish to warrant getting to winner of Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
But even if he comes up short in his goal, Sterling already has a sights on a path to the title and that includes calling out one of the guys in the main event.
