Alexis Davis vs Sara McMann added to TUF 24 Finale

Alexis Davis will fight Sara McMann at the Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale in December.
Alexis Davis is making her return to the Octagon after being away since April 2015 due to the birth of her son. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was first to report that Davis will fight Sara McMann on December, 3 at The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale which is set to take place at The Palms in Las Vegas.
Both women bantamweight fighters, Davis (17-6, 4-1 UFC) and McMann (9-3, 3-3 UFC), have both previously been title challengers. Most recently, McMann defeated Jessica Eye at UFC Fight Night 88 by decision.
Back in April 2015, Davis was victorious over Sarah Kaufman with a second-round armbar submission at UFC 186. Since entering the UFC, Davis has gone 4-1 with her only loss coming against former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.
According to UFC rankings, McMann is currently the No. 7 ranked women’s bantamweight fighter while Davis is unranked, meaning a win over McMann would likely put Davis back in the top 15 rankings.
The return of Davis adds another talented and veteran fighter to the mix in the women’s bantamweight division which will soon see the return of Ronda Rousey. She will face Amanda Nunes for the title at UFC 207 in Las Vegas while former champion Miesha Tate makes her return at UFC 205 against Raquel Pennington.
Nunes will make her first title defense since defeating Tate at UFC 200 who earned the belt at UFC 197 with a win against Holly Holm.
Other fights on the TUF 24 Finale card include Jake Ellenberger vs Jorge Masvidal and TUF coaches Henry Cejudo vs Joseph Benavidez. Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his belt against the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 24 at the Finale. The winner of Benavidez vs Cejudo would likely be next in line for a title shot against Johnson or his opponent, whoever is holding the flyweight championship.
