Alexander Gustafsson withdraws from UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo.  He will be replaced by fourth ranked Light Heavyweight Ryan Bader.

News broke yesterday via MMA reporter Ariel Helwani that number two ranked light heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson has withdrawn from his scheduled bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 100 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The bout was scheduled to headline the Brazilain event that will take place on November 19. According to Helwani, Gustafsson is set to be replaced by Ryan Bader.

Bader is coming off of a win over Ilir Latifi at UFC Fight Night 93 in Hamburg, Germany on September 3rd. He beat Latifi via a second round KO, that win earned Bader a performance of the night bonus. Bader has won six of his last seven, with the only loss coming from Anthony Johnson back in January of this year. Bader is looking to get back to the top of the rankings and earn the title shot he has searched for in the UFC.

There is no word yet on the reason Gustafsson withdrew from this fight with Nogueira. His last time in the Octagon was also in Hamburg, Germany at UFC Fight Night 93. He beat Jan Błachowicz by unanimous decision. Following the news, Gustafsson posted a picture on his Instagram with the hashtags “#angry, #sad, #frustrated, #illbeback, and #thatsforsure.” This post points to the fact that Gustafsson may have suffered an injury, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
