UEFA says it has barred Hungarian club Gyor from European competitions for three years after violating entry rules when it played in the 2010-11 Europa League.
UEFA says its disciplinary panel also fined the Hungarian Football Federation ?100,000 ($142,000), with half the amount suspended for two years, after it granted Gyor's license to play in the second-tier competition. Federations must ensure clubs are properly run and funded.
Gyor advanced through three Europa League qualifying rounds last year before losing in the playoff round to Dinamo Zagreb.
UEFA says it will deny Gyor any Champions League or Europa League place it earns on merit through the 2013-14 domestic season.
