U.S. Open Cup final: FC Dallas takes on New England Revolution for title

Both FC Dallas and the New England Revolution are starved for a trophy, and one of the two MLS sides will lift one at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, site of the 2016 U.S. Open Cup final.
FC Dallas has eyes on an unprecedented domestic treble, with the club currently atop the Supporters' Shield standings and a surefire favorite in the MLS Cup playoffs as well. Before that can be accomplished, though, the club has to win its first trophy since 1997, when it (as the Dallas Burn) defeated D.C. United in penalty kicks after a scoreless draw.
The Revolution have a brutal trophy history as well, losing in five MLS Cup finals (four of which went to extra time and/or penalties). The club defeated FC Dallas in the 2007 Open Cup final in Frisco, though, and will be aiming for a repeat Tuesday night.
