Tottenham chairman Levy says club will trim squad

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy says the club will trim its squad for next season's attempt to get back into the Champions League.

While Luka Modric and Gareth Bale have been linked with transfers by the British media, Levy says he does not intend selling key players and instead wants to dispense with those on the fringes of the first team.

Levy says ''it is no longer practical to retain players who are unlikely to qualify'' for the 25-man squad limit imposed by the Premier League.

David Bentley, Robbie Keane, Giovani Dos Santos and Jamie O'Hara have been on loan elsewhere this season and look most likely to depart.
