Skrtel out of Slovakia's friendly at Austria
Slovakia will be without key defender Martin Skrtel for next week's friendly against Austria because of a calf muscle injury.
Skrtel hasn't been able to train with his club Liverpool because of the problem. Forwards Stanislav Sestak and Robert Vittek are also out of the match next Wednesday in Klagenfurt. Sestak has a calf problem and Vittek a foot injury.
Slovakia coach Vladimir Weiss called up midfielders Karim Guede of Slovan Bratislava and Roman Prochazka of Spartak Trnava on Wednesday as cover. Both have yet to play an international.
The friendly is the last before Slovakia resumes qualifying for the 2012 European Championship at Ireland on Sept 2. Slovakia is is equal on points with Ireland and Russia atop Group B.
