MILAN --

Roma will have part of its stadium closed at its next home match for an offensive banner displayed at the weekend aimed at the mother of a rival fan who was shot and later died.

The enormous banner was shown during Saturday's match with Napoli - the southern club's first visit to Roma since the shooting before last season's Italian Cup final.

Roma's ''curva sud'' - the southern end of the stadium where the hard-core ''ultra'' fans sit - will thus be closed for the match against Atalanta on April 19.

The shooting of Napoli fan Ciro Esposito occurred away from the stadium before kickoff of the game last May. He died of his wounds in June.

Antonella Leardi, Esposito's mother, presented a book titled ''Ciro Lives'' last week.
