Pav agent targets deal talks

The Russian striker has drifted in and out of the Spurs side during his three years in England. An inability to hold down a regular role has led to his future being questioned on a regular basis. Talk of a return to former employers Spartak Moscow has been mooted this summer, with it expected that Harry Redknapp will once again favour other options in 2011/12. It is also well known that Spurs are in the market for another frontman, with Emmanuel Adebayor touted as a potential new recruit. Further competition for places at White Hart Lane will make life all the more difficult for Pavlyuchenko, but his representative insists talks are set to be held with Tottenham regarding a contract extension, not a possible departure. "We haven't talked about Roman's future with Tottenham yet," said Oleg Artemov. "The team is in South Africa at the moment and then we'll negotiate about his contract extension. "We don't care about any other offers because Roman wants to stay in London."
