Nigeria's soccer federation is hoping its suspension by FIFA will be dropped.
Court actions brought against elected officials led FIFA to ban the country from international matches. Acting federation head Musa Amadu told The Associated Press on Thursday that the group that filed the lawsuit has agreed informally to drop the case.
Amadu says that will go a long way to satisfy FIFA, which on Monday suspended the federation for government interference.
Amadu also has been reinstated as general secretary of the federation. He was forced to step down on the instructions of the government-run National Sports Commission - another reason given by FIFA for the ban.
