New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen has shown sympathy for England's players after Cappello's team limped to a 0-0 draw with Algeria.

Nelsen, who plays with Blackburn Rovers in England, said the Premier League was ``mentally and physically the hardest league in the world''.

Players like Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard were markedly off-form against Algeria and Nelsen said tiredness played a part.

``It's so draining,'' Nelsen said on Saturday. ``The English players won't admit it, they'll say it's a World Cup and they're up for it, but they play so many games, it's incredible.''
