New deal in the offing for King
It was originally claimed that the injury-ravaged defender would have to make at least 20 appearances this term to earn an extended stay at White Hart Lane. With there no guarantee that he will hit that mark, it was suggested that King's 15-year association with the club could be coming to an end. Redknapp, though, has relaxed his stance and says the 31-year-old will be offered fresh terms regardless of how many games he plays. With King still an important part of his plans when fit, the Spurs boss claims there is no chance of the England international being forced to look for a new club at this late stage of his career. "He's part of the furniture, he's a big part of this football club and I'm sure the chairman knows that as well," said Redknapp. "I'm sure he will look after him, I don't think anyone's going to go: 'Well you didn't reach 20'. "There's enough goodwill towards Ledley here for what he's been through and what he is. "If he only plays 10 games, the chances are you might win the 10."
