Muller hints he wants to spend rest of career at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller says money is not everything as he seems set to snub the Premier League to end his career in the Bundesliga.

Muller recently extended his contract with Bayern until 2021, although the forward continues to be linked with moves.

With Pep Guardiola moving to Manchester City in the summer, following him to England has inevitably been suggested, but Muller is not so sure it would be the right step for him to take.

"The English may have a lot of financial power, but whether that is going to help them return to the top in Europe remains to be seen," he told Munich's Abendzeitung newspaper.

"From a sporting perspective, it was easy for me to extend my contract here.

"I did have offers, but when you look at things purely from a football angle, then we're already one of the top three in Europe with Barcelona and Real Madrid."

Muller, 26, is therefore leaning towards signing another contract with Bayern when his current one expires rather than looking for a fresh challenge abroad.

"When you put your signature on a contract, then you presume you will fulfil it," he said.

"It may still be a long way down the line, but both the club and I feel happy together.

"When it expires, I will be over 30 already and I hope I can maintain my current level and be successful here in years to come."
