Manchester City thrashed Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday to move five points clear of its leading Premier League rival.

Mario Balotelli scored twice as City ended United's 37-match unbeaten run at home in all competitions.

Sergio Aguero added a third for the visitors in its biggest victory at Old Trafford since winning 6-1 in January 1926.

David Silva scored a late goal along with two for Edin Dzeko.

Jonny Evans, the United central defender who was at fault for Balotelli's opening goal, was shown a straight red card in the 46th minute for a foul on the Italian forward.
