Manchester City joins Barcelona to sign Arsenal’s star right-back Hector Bellerin
Bellerin, who’s a La Masia’s product, abscond to Arsenal in 2011 after 8 years with the Spanish giants youth. Now reports are circulating La Blaugranas want that old thing back with Aleix Vidal struggling to adapt in Luis Enrique’s style.
Both Manchester City and Barcelona inquired about the coveted right-back during the summer transfer window, but Arsenal’s coach Arsenal Wenger spurned all the suitors.
Bellerin’s current deal is set to expire in 2019, and Barcelona’s newspaper SPORT reported Monday morning that the Catalans will interfere in Gunners prolonging the 21-year-old’s deal.
City’s co-assistant coach Mikel Arteta, who’s formed a close friendship with Bellerin since joining Arsenal the same summer could be the key man to trigger this deal.
“Mikel and his wife adopted me when I arrived,” Bellerin said during an interview in May. “I was a kid and he has been like a father to me.
“He has been instrumental in my integration into the Arsenal.”
If Barca acquires the Spanish international services, he will join Cesc Fabregas, Thierry Henry, Alex Song and Thomas Vermaelen among the Arsenal players who have made the switch to Camp Nou.
In order to pluck Bellerin away from Arsenal, the Spanish international wooers will have to meet a smashing price tag of £40 million, which would make him the most expensive player ever at his position.

Indeed, Arsenal are a good football club and Wenger is a phenomenal coach despite not inheriting the Premier League title since 2004. But something has to be said about Barcelona’s love affair with Arsenal players.
