Lomas hopes to sign trialists
Vine and Daley are on trial in Perth and Lomas is keen to add the pair, from QPR and Preston respectively, to his small squad. The former Northern Ireland international feels the success of Jody Morris and Fran Sandaza shows that players can kickstart their careers at St Johnstone. Former Chelsea midfielder Morris has earned a deal at Bristol City after impressing in a four-year stay with the Saints. Meanwhile, Sandaza is weighing up offers from around Europe after firing 14 SPL goals for St Johnstone following his arrival from Brighton last year. Lomas is hoping their success will attract other players - now he just needs to convince his chairman that the club can afford them. "I've given the chairman my list and it's over to him now," Lomas told the Daily Record. "I can understand his concerns on the financial front but I still believe we need a bit of pace out wide, a target man and another type of option in attack. "That would be ideal but whether that can happen is another thing. "Look what coming here did for Jody and Fran. And look at the players Dundee United have given a stage for and they have moved on to the Championship. "I'm hoping that sort of thing can help us attract players. I'd hope the guys wouldn't have come here if they weren't interested in signing. So now it's about us trying to make it happen."
