Klopp hails Liverpool after 'the perfect day' at Aston Villa

Jurgen Klopp hailed Liverpool's 6-0 Premier League win over bottom side Aston Villa on Sunday as "the perfect day".

Six different goalscorers - Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne, Emre Can and Kolo Toure - helped the Reds to their biggest win since the German took charge, moving them up to eighth in the Premier League.

And Klopp said the manner of the win was "wonderful", as Liverpool sit two points off the top six in the Premier League.

He told Sky Sports: "We made wonderful goals, and in the end it was a clear result. It's not too often in a manager's life that in the last 20 minutes you can really enjoy it, but today it was like this.

"We did what we had to do today, and it was really good and easy to enjoy. The crowd was satisfied, and that's how it should be sometimes.

"It's the best thing we could have done today, win, and like this. It's a perfect day.

"We scored the goals at the right moment. It was a result for the soul."

Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge returned to the starting XI after injury and combined to open the scoring at Villa Park after an even opening to the game, a goal Klopp described as "perfect".

Both players looked back to their best for Liverpool and Klopp believes his side look a better outfit when they are involved.

"To make this cross between two centre halves, it was a perfect goal, absolutely perfect goal," he said. "It's good for us when we have all players available, but in football, life is not always like this.

"Of course it makes a difference, but we're not allowed to think about these things when they are not there. We can only play with the players that are available and fit.

"Of course everything is better when you have the highest quality possible on the pitch as often as possible. These two players are for us very, very important. They showed it today.

"I'm very, very, very [pleased for Sturridge]. Of course it's a situation where he wants to play football, and now he can do this it is good for him and very good for us.

"But we played without Adam Lallana, Lucas Leiva, Martin Skrtel."
