Charlton midfielder Danny Hollands hopes to put his injury problems behind him and focus on making the first team next season.
The midfielder, 27, has endured a difficult campaign, losing his first-team place before a loan spell at Swindon was curtailed by a fractured metatarsal.
But he made a surprise return to Chris Powell's side in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough.
"Hopefully next year can't be as bad as this year for me," Hollands told the club website.
"I have had a couple of operations and things on the pitch haven't gone as well as I would have liked them to, but all I can do is get my head down in pre-season.
"It is up to the manager who he plays, but obviously I want to play football. He is the one that makes the decisions and hopefully I will part of them."
