Fulham close on Israeli prospect
The 16-year-old midfielder has attracted attention of European scouts in recent months, and spent time training with Liverpool and Arsenal last year. At the time, Alan Hazan, the Israel U17 coach, said: "It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he has been invited to a club like Liverpool. "If Omri moves to Liverpool today I can say with absolute certainty that at 21 or 22 he will be a super important player at the club. The club will install in him virtues of the highest level." But the Cottagers have now pushed through a deal with his club Maccabi Tel Aviv. A statement from the Israelis read: "We have reached agreement with Fulham for the transfer of youth player Omri Altman. The transfer is now dependant on him signing his professional contract." Maccabi say the deal is expected to be concluded in the next 10 days.
