Reports have suggested Barca have set their sights on Enrique, with the club keen to bolster the options at left-back. But Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is hopeful of retaining the 25-year-old, who has a year left on his current contract. Salvador Sanchez, Enrique's representative, told The Vanguardia.com: "We know nothing but what has emerged in the press." Liverpool have also been linked with the Spanish defender, who joined the Magpies from Villarreal in 2007.
