FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Geoff Cameron started at right back for the United States' exhibition game against Brazil on Tuesday alongside the new central pairing of Michael Orozco.
Cameron has been starting at central defender for Stoke this season, but U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann is short of right backs heading into the Oct. 10 playoff against Mexico, which determines a 2017 Confederations Cup berth.
John Brooks was paired with Omar Gonzalez in central defense in Friday's 2-1 win over Peru but came off in the 62nd minute. Brooks did not dress Tuesday, and the U.S. Soccer Federation said he was not at 100 percent.
Brad Guzan started his 12th straight game in goal, with Tim Howard again on the bench following the end of his 14-month sabbatical from the national team. Orozco moved to the center from right back, and Tim Ream remained on the left.
Jermaine Jones started his second straight game in the defensive midfield and was alongside Alejandro Bedoya in the 4-2-3-1 formation.
Michael Bradley, who missed last week's game to remain with Toronto, was in the center of the advanced midfield, flanked by DeAndre Yedlin and Gyasi Zardes. Jozy Altidore, who scored both goals Friday, was the lone forward.
The U.S. has lost nine straight games against Brazil since its only victory over the Selecao, in 1998.
Neymar was on the bench for Brazil. He is suspended for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Venezuela following his red card against Colombia at the Copa America in June.
Hulk, who scored in Friday's 1-0 win over Costa Rica, was the lone forward in Brazil's lineup.
Marcelo Grohe was in goal, with Fabinho at right back, Miranda and David Luiz in central defense and Marcelo on the left. Gustavo and Elias were in defensive midfield, with Willian, Lucas Lima and Douglas Costa more advanced.
