Werder Bremen striker Claudio Pizarro has resumed training after recovering from an ankle injury but isn't certain to return to action this month.
The 31-year-old Peru international was hurt in late October. He started an individual training program with a physiotherapist on Monday.
Pizarro says "we'll have to wait and see how the foot reacts to the pressure."
Coach Thomas Schaaf said Pizarro's training program would be stepped up gradually and "then we will see soon enough whether he is back before Christmas."
Bremen is second in the Bundesliga but only managed a scoreless draw at struggling FC Cologne on Sunday.
